Final Countdown!

Jadon had his 6 month appt this week and he weighs in at 19lbs 2.5oz (4lbs gained in 2 months) and 27.25inches long (.5inch longer in 2 months)!  I've got a healthy boy on my hands! 

Today he had his helmet appt and pt appt...plus had his first gig as a model!  The hospital needed to update their take home flyer for positions to put babies who have reflux .  He did amazing!  He's not a fan of smiling at the camera, but the photographer got one great one of him play screaming as he threw a toy!  Adorable! 

I feel God has answered a lot of prayers, and we got to see them today.  His helmet appt was great.  The orthotist said he has met all his goals and his head is really shaped great...he's only had it on for 2 months!!  Jadon hasn't stopped growing since having it on, so that sped up the change.  Jadon will be wearing it for a little bit more to see if we can get his right forehead to pop out a 1/4 inch to make his face a litte more symmetrical.  If Jadon wasn't sleeping on his stomach so much now, he probably could be done.  But, I asked him if he thought the helmet would still fit him in 2 months.  He said no, he'd be surprised if he could still wear it in a month!  WOW!!  Praise God!  I was praying for super fast results, and he should be only wearing it 3 months max when we were told closer to 6 months!!  Crazy!  I thought I'd be super excited (which I am) but I'm nervous about his head going back.  The orthotist said technically it could, but he's never seen one.  Jadon's getting so mobile that it will help his head keep a nice shape. 

Then at pt the therapist got his head rotated all the way to the right immediately!  That has never happened.  She always has had to massage his muscle or slowly try to "force" it over.  Nope, he did great!  She also said his neck muscles feel really good too...remember his muscle was so tight there was a thought of surgery to cut it and let it reheal itself.  So, we go in for another appt in 2 weeks...then we may be DONE!  Crazy!!!!!  In 2 weeks my little guy could be done with all his hip/neck/and head appts!  What will it feel like to have Jadon all to myself with no attachments and no appts...not sure.  I've never JUST had a baby!  I'm excited, but I'm am SO thankful that all of this was found so early so it could be corrected, praise God!!!

Happy 1/2 Birthday Jadon!

Happy 1/2 Birthday my baby boy!!  We are so blessed that God gave us you...you were SO worth the wait!  You bring so much laughter and joy to our lives Jadon, we LOVE you so much! 

I ran across these verses today while reading and it helped me reflect and praise God for how He changed our lives 6 months ago.

You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing to you and not be silent.  O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever.  Psalm 30:11-12

Your ways, O God, are holy.  What god is so great as our God?  You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples.  Psalm 77:13-14

I love mornings!

I am SO not a morning person...or an evening anymore...but anyway who can not LOVE waking up to this happy little guy!!  I am so blessed!

I love the breathable bumpers I got...no more stuck limbs!  He's showing off his new 9 month pj's that fit him perfectly, yikes!!  Jadon has his 6 month appt next week and I'm excited to see how he's grown!  Did I really just say that...6 months...wow, half way to a year already!

Growing boy!

Little guy is growing like a weed!!  His pants are starting to get a little short and shirts are getting harder to get on! I washed his 6-9 month clothes this last week.  It's amazing as they get bigger how their wardrobe gets smaller.  Not as many people buy "bigger" clothes for showers...I try to give clothes at least 12+ for gifts for this reason! 

We had exciting news at his helmet appt!  His head grew another 1/4 inch in the right direction!!  That means so far it has grown 1/2 inch in a month and a half!  I'm so glad we started the helmet early cause that could have meant 1/2 inch in the wrong direction!  So, get this...he has another 1/4 inch to go to meet all the goals for wearing the helmet for 4 months,and it hasn't even been half of that!!!  After that it will be up to us as far as cosmetic reasons.  I am aware that he may not grow in the next 2 weeks, so it may take another couple months to get to the 1/4 inch..but still, we are SO excited to see such quick results!  God is so good!

We had a great Easter as a family!  We enjoyed showing Jadon off at church in his cute little dress shirt and tie and he did so well!  I think we wiped/washed his hands about 4 times in the hour and a half cause everyone kept touching his hands.  Hello people, he puts his hands in his mouth ALL the time, please don't share your germs!  We even had a dear lady come up and say oh, I don't want to get to close, I have a bad cold, then she reached out and touched his hands!!!!!  I quickly pulled out a wipe and tried to sanitize him asap!!  Now I know I may sound like a crazy first time mom...but I'm ok with him getting a cold, but people don't understand that if my baby gets sick his helmet has to come off.  Which means we have to phase him back into wearing it again and we have to have him wear it LONGER. So, NO TOUCHING!!!!!  Anyway, off my rant, we enjoyed celebrating the risen Savior together with our families! It was a very special Easter for us all this year!
