Psalm 33:20-22

"We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in you."

5 months!

Jadon is five months old already!  The last couple weeks have been so much fun, I'm really enjoying this age.  He is such a smiley, happy little guy...I'm so blessed!  Here's some updates on him:

  • Still size 3-6 month clothes...but the onesies are getting harder to snap.  Would be really hard/wouldn't fit with cloth diapers!
  • Speaking of cloth, we have put them away for the time being.  We noticed some redness and I have smelt some ammonia and we just don't have the time right now to figure everything out.  I plan on going back, but not yet.  I'm enjoying the ease of disposibles right now, but I do miss that cute cloth butt!
  • He's eating about 5-6 oz of formula 4x a day with another 4 oz at bedtime.  It's lower than before cause he's eating about 1-2Tbls. of rice cereal 3x a day.  Jadon LOVES to eat like a big boy!  Get ready momma, this boy is going to eat you out of the house!!
  • Jadon loves to move around like crazy!!  Diaper changing is interesting...I don't use the changing table anymore cause he lifts his butt up and pushes his head to slide really far on his helmet.  Too dangerous!  I just had to order breathable bumpers cause he gets limbs stuck all the time in the crib....plus his helmet always clanks against the bars in the morning.
  • He's rolling from stomach to back and back to stomach.  He enjoys sitting up and we're working on balance.
  • Jadon just found his thumb!  He doesn't really need the pacifer that much, so hopefully this is just a teething thing...yes, I feel something under those gums!  He's had some days of fussiness cause of teething.
  • Naps are interesting.  He wakes up about 45 minutes into one and cries until he falls back to sleep for another hour.  Gone are the 2.5-3 hour naps!  I made the mistake of getting him up after the 45 minutes...not a good idea!  He's all smiley in the beginning, but it really messes him up...so I leave him and try to deal with the crying.  He takes two 1.5-2 hour naps with a catnap in the evening.
  • He gets up between 7-8am and goes to bed between 9-9:30pm.
  • For the first time he grabbed at Dave's plate the other day.
  • Still going to PT once a week.  He has a few degrees to get complete rotation yet, but the therapist thinks we may be able to go to every other week soon.  It's very hard to do stretches on him now that he's moving around so much, plus he knows what your going to do to him!
  • The helmet has been on for one month.  The side of the head has grown 1/4 inch so far, which is great!  We can definately see a difference, which helps!  It's getting harder to know what to dress him in, especially with some warm days.  He doesn't like to be too warm, especially when he's sleeping.
We got this onesie from stylinbabyhelmets.com  They make some super cute onesies and hats to make the helmets even cuter!

He is so cute! I found you (maybe on Bridget's blog above? I can't remember now...) I think we are going to have to buy the breathable bumpers soon also, I just don't like seeing little limbs stuck through the rails. That onesie is so cute by the way! What a great website!
