For so long I felt like we needed children to complete our family. I am now realizing we are a family, and how blessed I am to have these times with my husband. We are going on 9 years of being married, and we have learned so much about each other. Time (and circumstances) has truly given us the opportunity to KNOW one another. So looking back, we have not missed out on anything, we have been given a gift to have 9 years of uninterrupted time together to create a strong foundation for our family to build on.
This past year was such a blessing. Dave surprised me for my birthday and took me away to an amazing townhome for an extended weekend. We had SO much fun together! A few months later we enjoyed a week of camping around Dave's birthday. It was so relaxing and needed. Finally, Dave wanted to take me on a trip to Wisconsin Dells for our Anniversary. We have never taken an "activity" trip before (our honeymoon in Jamaica we didn't leave our resort) and thought it was a perfect opportunity to do so. Looking back, this year has been such a blessing for us. First, that we somehow financially did it (ok, we didn't, God definately provided!). Second, and most importantly, we had FUN together. Our struggle with infertility over the years can take the "fun" out of life sometimes. It can get very stressful and overwhelming. These trips allowed us to focus on the gift God HAS given us, and that is each other. So, here are just a couple fun pics of us on our Anniversary trip.
