Psalm 33:20-22

"We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in you."

Where have ya been??

Thats a good question!! We've had a very insane last week! It's funny, cause a couple weeks ago, I was about to have a slight meltdown cause I was too busy with too much I needed to get done. WELL, I think God knew I could handle SO much more! Last Monday I got food poisoning. Yuck. Tuesday luckily I was feeling better, but we got a call that Dave's dad was brought to the ER with terrible flu like symptoms. Come to find out that he had a terrible infection from kidney stones that was causing kidney failure!!! He was transferred to ICU and stayed there till Thursday where he was finally healthy enough for a regular hospital room. He has no insurance, but has VA coverage...so we are trying to go through many many VA hoops to see if they will cover his expenses!!

We had a great Christmas Eve with my family. I'll post some special pics from that night soon!

Christmas we spent mostly with Dave's family, then at the hospital where his Dad was not feeling good at all. Later that evening Dave and I exchanged gifts.

We had a great Christmas, honestly. It really helped us focus on the real reason we celebrate...which is Jesus coming to earth as a baby to save us through his death on the cross. Christmas wasn't about the gifts or even the traditions for us this year. We were thankful for life and family.

Yesterday (Tuesday) I got to bring Dan home, so that's good! Today I bring him in to the VA doctor...so that will be interesting! Prayers for wisdom and boldness would be greatly appreciated!!

Through all of this, Dave and I have learned priorities. God first, family second, church/job third. Our plates are overflowing, and we need to get back to the basics.

Please pray that we can get some energy to fill out all the adoption paperwork soon!! This has had to take a backseat lately. So, there's the update!

Wow! I hope everyone is feeling and doing better! Getting through all of those hoops with the hospitals can be a pain.

Oh wow, what a crazy holiday. I'm glad to hear that your FIL is doing better. Nothing like a family crisis around the holidays to put things into perspective.
