Psalm 33:20-22

"We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in you."

Thanksgiving, Part 1

We celebrated Thanksgiving with Dave's parents on Wednesday night. Before getting to that though, I want to share an awesome conversation I had with a friend. A couple at church has been having infertility problems and like us, and didn't talk much about it. Just as we announced we were going to adopt, we found out they were as well. So, she gave me a call Wed. morning to talk about where we are at with adoption. It was a great conversation!! God is so good that he put us both at this place at the same time! They just finished their homestudy last week, so they are one step ahead of us, so they can help answer a lot of those questions. It was so nice to openly talk to someone who has been there, done that with IF, and then share in the excitement with adoption!!! So, our babies will grow up together and we will have a great adoption support group! It was a great blessing!!

We had a great meal with dh's family!! Gotta love it when you have chefs that are making your meal! YUM!! We were so excited to share our news, we've been dreaming of doing it for 7 years!! Dave shares and all are shocked and surprised! But...less than 5 seconds later his sister totally didn't acknowledge what we said, but turned the conversation back on herself. From there on it was slightly disappointing. The moment was ruined and it didn't really get talked about too much at all. Before we left though, his dad said that he's going to be dreaming about his grandbaby! I know their excited, but we went home slightly frustrated. We were exhausted and not looking forward to doing it again the next day with my family. We got some sleep and I'll fill you in on the rest in Part 2!

That's awesome about having a couple that you can connect with (and learn from too) while going through this journey. We have good friends like that too and it has helped so much. I'm sorry the announcement didn't go as you had planned.

So great that you have someone else to go through this with! It's so invaluable and you will probably have a life-time bond!
